Collectively manifesting the next city.
San Francisco has an array of opportunities — a downtown to reinvent, human connection to prioritize, and previously intractable challenges ready for new models.
How we build our home during the dawn of AI is the story the world will tell about us.
We intend to make it a good one.
Built to sit between sectors.
Most urban challenges stall for the same reason: the community, the agency, the company, and the funder each hold one piece of the answer and rarely meet. Collective Impact was founded to be the connective tissue between them.
We work with for-profit and non-profit organizations, often on the same project, from offices in San Francisco and New York.
How we create a future city
We work with property owners, campus and land holders, tech companies, investors, and public partners shaping what comes next for our city.

Reimagined Real Estate
Repurposing underutilized spaces to unlock our future city. We uncover the highest and best use for what's sitting quiet: closed college campuses, office towers, empty ground-floor retail, and undeveloped land. Strategy and stakeholder engagement leads to sales, leases, and creative partnerships that bring value for owners, operators and the whole community.

AI Applied Locally
San Francisco is bringing innovation to the world. We put that innovation to work on the city itself, connecting SF's AI community with policy and impact leaders. Together we create new models for how cities operate, from social services to downtown recovery. The tools built here should make SF the model city the world expects us to be.

Cross-Sector Collaboration
We facilitate culture change from scarcity to abundance. Public and private leaders pool resources and expertise to go bigger together. New shared tools bring alignment and consistency. The result is new models that create more value together than any organization could alone.

From global tech to local impact.
Michael Seiler started in music, producing festivals and events around the world, and learned that shared experience is what turns a cause into a movement. He spent the next decade on the impact side of tech, empowering startups, nonprofits, and communities with Google, Salesforce, Galvanize, and more. When COVID hit, he brought it home, testing what global tech had taught him at the scale of one city.
